This used to be my favorite lunch time spot to meet up with my mom. But for the last 3 years I have been gluten free due to allergies. My mom actually saw at another location of theirs that they do offer gluten free bread. So while I was in town visiting we decided to stop here. It was very quiet when we arrived and festive for the holidays. Now this location does carry gluten free bread. But it is not listed on the Ingersoll menu. It is not made in house. It is an Udi bread loaf. They change their gloves immediately when you ask for gluten free bread and bring out its own cutting board and knife at the sandwich station. Safety is taken very seriously. All deli meat is gluten free. I did not check any of their soups but they did have a gluten free strawberry cake and as always they have gluten free peanut butter cookies.

I absolutely love Palmers. The spinner salad is my go-to because it is infinitely customizable. I also love the sampler option from the salads in the case. Egg salad, crunchy cabbage, and trees and raisins are a combination for happiness. Oh, and their sandwiches are also always on point.

We love coming to Palmers for Lunch!! We dined in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon! My wife and I both got a spinner salad. The salad comes with your choice of lettuce, four toppings, dressing , and roll. I got Romaine, carrots, red peppers, cucumbers, cheddar cheese. My wife chose the same toppings except red onion instead of red peppers. We both got an Asiago cheese roll. The quality of the lettuce here is outstanding! We love the french dressing! All our toppings were fresh! The service rocks! We love this place! Next time we will add a meat choice to our salad for an extra charge.

Last week, my family and I attended the AAU Track and Field Summer Olympics. While there, we used Yelp to find Palmer's. Their sandwiches, salads, and desserts were delicious, and we returned a few more times. My daughter even asked if they could open a location in Dallas, TX. We also look forward to visiting Palmer's on our next trip to Iowa. Great location, Great Food!

Love this location so much! Big space and very open with indoor and outdoor seating. Their sandwiches are always high quality and freshly made. They have great chili and salads to choose from. I recommend the broccoli salad . If you get the chance, try their brownies. Highly recommend those! There are certain times where they get really busy so if you are planning on going, either show up earlier. They're good at the turnover rate, but they are very popular and busy so that's expected.

Whenever you are on this side of Ingersoll in Des Moines the food choices are numerous, but I really like Palmer's for their fresh, fast and fabulous deli style meals! Walkup to one of tree counters - One for Sandos, one for Salads and another for soups. All fresh and all delicious! Make your order, grab some sides and a desert, pay and enjoy. Grab a comfy seat or take it to go. If you stay in enjoy the well lit and modern ambience. When you are done just get up an leave, They will clear your plate - so leave a tip when you pay! The deli sandwiches are fresh cut meats and fresh cut locally made breads. You can choose from their suggestions or build your own! They have multiple locations including Walnut downtown and another one in Urbandale.

Stopping for lunch with a hankering for a Reuben Sandwich. After reading the specialty sandwich board -- I settled on the Reuben, Chicken Enchiladas Soup, Waldorf, Peanut Butter Cookie with a Sprite. The eye appeal of the food was just not as eye appealing as the taste. The Chicken Enchiladas Soup was not to temperature, the Waldorf was excellent with the Peanut Butter Cookie being my highlight. Service was slow with the staff lacking personality making you not want to come back. Yet, the guy at the soup section was up to the lunch challenge of wanting to be at work to serve the customers. Perhaps this is a different day and age where the outward customer service does not have to match the food or does it? Prices are reasonable with parking still an issue. Upon entering and leaving the Des Moines Palmer's the environment could be more customer friendly as to music, servers with a smile and staff that appear as if they truly do not mind being at work. Beyond all of the above my food was fresh and tasty!

Palmers is exactly what you expect a Des Moines café deli to be. This one is actually just down the road from my house and offers quite a bit of variety. Their salads and soups are pretty standard fare anymore. I prefer to get their deli case premade salads. When dining in I'll normally get the sampler plate but I've been known to come in and get to go orders of them. My favorite is their smoked almond turkey salad and trees and raisins. My mom prefers their tortellini salad. All are very good and you can get stamps on a card each time you order from their deli case so that you get something free after 10 visits. I always forget mine though so I will eventually come in with quite a large stack. In the past I have done catering from this location and although it's been hit or miss in the past I believe that it has improved over time. I will say when getting things to go make sure that everything is properly secured in your bags. Just today I picked up their Chicken tomato vodka pasta which was in their frozen case and when I got at home the lid was off and we had A big mess. Apparently it wasn't actually frozen yet either. I was able to salvage part of it though & it was tasty.
